Old Shell Road Storm Drain Repairs Happening this Weekend

Between Bishop Lane & McGregor

Mobile, AL – This Saturday, May 21st, Public Works crews will be repairing concrete storm drains along Old Shell Road from Bishop Lane to McGregor. The work, aimed at preventing flooding during heavy rain events, was backed by Council President Gina Gregory, who also saw that it was financed through Capital Improvement Program funds.

The work may cause some interference in vehicle traffic flow on Old Shell and foot traffic on the sidewalk, but the road will remain open throughout the project.

The repairs are in preparation for the second phase of resurfacing on Old Shell Road from White Lane, east to I-65.  The cost of this project is nearly $500,000.
