Drainage Improvements
In response to his Transition Task Force report, Mayor Sam Jones has announced a $26 million infrastructure and drainage bond issue based on need, not political district. The projects were selected based on engineering data.
"These projects are critical to the future development of this city," says Mayor Jones. "We have got to make sure that the areas with the most need are addressed first."
Some of the projects include:
- Macy Place paving and drainage improvement
- Dauphin Street storm drainage work
- Carlisle Drive drainage improvements - From Sandra Drive to Overlook Road and from the Main Channel to Forest Ridge
- Installation of storm drainage system to capture water at the end of Pringle Drive
- Replacement of bridge and other improvements at Navco Road and Bolton's Branch drainage canal
- Drain improvements from Pillans Street to north of Interstate 10
- Little Stickney drainage canal improvements from Springhill Avenue to Mobile Infirmary Drive
- Ice House Branch drainage canal improvements from Gosson to Senator Streets
- Replacement of concrete ditch along Seabreeze Road East
- Concrete repairs to Big Stickney drainage culvert at Springhill Avenue
- Installation of storm drainage system on Florida Street
- Spencer's Branch drainage canal repairs
