The Concrete and Sidewalk Section is responsible for repairing all sidewalks, driveways and curb and gutter lines that are damaged by tree roots. It is also responsible for maintaining concrete ditches, drain inlets and cave-ins in the streets and on drainage easements.

The Right-of-Way Maintenance Section is responsible for grading all dirt roads, building headwalls and maintaining all street shoulders without curb and gutter. It also repairs washouts and responds to hazardous spills when called by the Police or Fire Department.

The Asphalt and Street Repair Section is responsible for repairing potholes, overlaying streets, milling humps out of streets and building asphalt berms and spillways. This department also erects and maintains metal and wood barricades. All program activities are aimed at maintaining streets in a condition so as to achieve their maximum design life.

The Street Sweeping Section is responsible for sweeping all City streets with curb and gutter, V-type gutter and asphalt wings. It is also responsible for sweeping daily after all Mardi Gras Parades and for sweeping before and after all Special Events.
