Myron E. King
Chief of Support Services
Chief of Support Services, Myron E. King is a native Mobilian and a 29 and one-half year veteran of the Fire Service serving the last 27 and one-half years as a member of Mobile Fire Rescue Department. Chief King currently oversees the Bureau of Fire Prevention Code Enforcement and Arson Investigation, P.I.E.R. Division which includes Public Information, Public Education, Recruitment and Chaplain Services and Fire Communications Division.
Chief King has an extensive background in Fire Suppression, Community/Public Relations and Emergency Medical Services. Chief King implemented the first comprehensive QA/QI program for the Emergency Medical Services Division of Mobile Fire Rescue Department and was charged to oversee the initial State Wide EMS Credentialing Program for the Department. He has been very instrumental in the succession planning and the progressive development of the Emergency Medical Services Division and its overall operations from both the administrative and clinical aspects.
Chief King is a graduate of Williamson High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in EMS Management and Administration from the University of South Alabama. He is a 2003 graduate of Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute conducted at Dillard University in New Orleans, La. He is also a 2008 graduate of Leadership Mobile.
Chief King has served through the ranks as a Firefighter, Firemedic, Fire Service Captain both field and Staff, Fire Service District Chief both Field and Staff, and Fire Service Deputy Chief.
Chief King Worships at Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
