Community Services Division
We have a new weapon for fighting crime: partnering with people like you to fight crime in your neighborhood. It is part of the Community Policing concept, which prompted a reorganization of the Police Department in 1999 and the creation of the new Community Services Division. All the community outreach activities were consolidated under this new division. The goal: to address problems in our neighborhoods before they generate crime and disorder. We do it through alliances with neighborhood groups, crime prevention programs and youth programs.
