Mobile Government

Message from the Mayor

As you know, the City of Mobile is a great place to live, work and play. Our location close to bodies of water such as the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay and Mobile River make our city prosperous.

But that proximity to the coast can also leave us geographically vulnerable to tropical systems. That is why the City of Mobile has put together a comprehensive guide for our citizens to make sure that they are as prepared as possible in the event that a major hurricane makes landfall on the Alabama coast.

By reading the information provided here, you will learn about how to prepare yourself, your home and your business for a hurricane or any disaster. We have answered questions about medical needs, important emergency phone numbers, dealing with pets, evacuation routes, what to do immediately after a hurricane, and much more.

The safety and quality of life of Mobile's citizens is my top priority. Please use this information as a tool to prepare your family and how to deal with the aftermath of a hurricane. And know that the City of Mobile is working hard to keep you as safe as possible.
