The City of Mobile is located along the Gulf Coast and comprises an area of 176 square miles with a population of 250,000.
The Mobile Police Department employs more than 700 full-time personnel to provide services to the city. This includes sworn police officers, civilian employees and police aides.
The administrative facility for police operations is the Harold L. Johnson Police Headquarters building located at 2460 Government St. near the corner of Pinehill Drive. Hours for the administrative offices are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The Mobile Police Department utilizes an E-911 service for emergency police and fire assistance 24 hours a day.
