The Field Operations Bureau is the largest in the department and includes all of the uniformed personnel. The majority of all calls for service to the Police Department, from a shoplifting complaint to homicide, begin with a response by a uniformed officer. There are approximately 300 sworn officers in the Mobile Police Department’s Field Operations Bureau. Deputy Chief James Barbers commands the Field Operations Bureau.
