As the chief executive officer, the Chief of Police directs the activities of the Police Department and is the liaison with other city departments and attends many community events.

Chief Deputy Chief
The Chief Deputy Chief is the top assistant to the Chief of Police and oversees the Support Services and Field Operations Bureaus. He is also tasked with various executive responsibilities, as needed.

Tyrone Williams

Administrative Services Bureau
The Deputy Chief of Administrative Services oversees planning functions that determine the allocation of department resources. The Deputy Chief also oversees community services that include all outreach efforts geared to crime prevention and community building. The department's legal counsel and the Internal Affairs Unit report directly to this office.

Support Services Bureau
The Deputy Chief of Support Services oversees the areas of the department that support the officers on streets. These divisions include training, record-keeping and similar functions. The Deputy Chief aslo oversees all the detective divisions that and specialized details outside of patrol functions.

Field Operations Bureau
The Deputy Chief of Field Operations is responsible for all street patrol functions based in the five precinct offices. The Deputy Chief also oversees the special operations officers who respond to unusual or high-risk situations.
