The Fifth Precinct opened August 3, 2007 as a temporary office for the police jurisdiction located three miles west of the city's border at Cody Road. The jurisdiction extends north to Moffett Road and south to I-10. The Mobile Police Department has established the temporary precinct office in a FEMA trailer at 8400 Airport Blvd. in an attempt to improve response times in the jurisdiction.
