A Message from Mayor Stimpson - June 19

Good evening!

You have all heard of COVID-19 fatigue. If you haven't, it is a state of mind where some are just flat tired of COVID statistics and conversations. While understandable, it may lead to you dropping your guard and finding yourself infected by the virus.

I don't want you getting newsletter fatigue, so tonight we won't share any data on the virus. Monday's update will bring you back up to speed quickly. Meantime, remember that we all have a personal responsibility for staying healthy.

The last three weeks of civil unrest have been very tumultuous in our city, state and nation. Emotions are still running high, but your city leadership is dedicated to addressing the concerns surfacing from the public outcry and conversations.  As a community, we will achieve outcomes that will make Mobile a safer, more business and family friendly city.

Even while addressing the issues involving COVID-19 and civil unrest, the City continues to make progress fighting crime, repairing infrastructure and increasing community development, among other important initiatives. We will continue "doing the business" of the City to assure that superior services are being delivered to you.

I wish you a happy Juneteenth, a safe and enjoyable weekend, and a happy Father's Day on Sunday.
