Mayor Stimpson announces changes to leadership team
MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson today announced that George Talbot will be leaving his position as Executive Director of Communications and External Affairs for the City of Mobile to join the management team at Volkert Engineering.
“I want to thank George for his dedication and service to the citizens of Mobile,” Mayor Stimpson said. “His integrity, dependability and work ethic have been a great resource to my Administration since we took office. He will be missed and we wish him well as he takes this next step.”
Talbot, who has served the Administration since taking office in 2013, has resigned effective August 14, 2020, to take a position as Director of Governmental and External Affairs with Volkert in Mobile. Until that date, he will continue working with the Administration to ensure a smooth transition.
Stimpson said Anitra Henderson, Senior Director of Community Affairs for the City of Mobile, will serve as interim Director of Communications and External Affairs.
“We are blessed with a versatile and talented team, and we will take this opportunity to further strengthen the organization,” Stimpson said.
