Downtown streets to briefly close for RSA/Battle House spire maintenance
Mobile, Ala. — On the morning of Sunday, April 27, sections of Water Street and other downtown roads will be briefly closed to accommodate preventive maintenance on the RSA/Battle House spire.
The work on the spire is scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., but road closures around the building will occur only twice, and only briefly (5- 15 minutes), while parts of the spire are transported via helicopter. Officers from the Mobile Police Department will be on-site to close the surrounding streets only during the times that the helicopter is in flight. Detour signs will also be posted.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area. Affected roads will include sections of St. Michael, St. Francis, Dauphin, and Water streets. See the map below:
