Gov. Ivey, Legislature recognize Mayor Stimpson’s service to Mobile
Mobile, Ala. — On Thursday, May 15, Mayor Sandy Stimpson was recognized by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Legislature for years of dedicated service to the City of Mobile.
A joint resolution highlighting Stimpson’s accomplishments as mayor was passed by the Legislature last week and signed by Governor Ivey on Thursday morning. Mayor Stimpson, who was first elected in 2013, was joined by his wife Jean as HJR227 was signed by the Governor in Montgomery.
“I want to thank the members of the legislature and Governor Ivey for this recognition and for their steadfast support of Mobile throughout my tenure,” Mayor Stimpson said. “The progress we’ve made has been the result of an extraordinary team at the City of Mobile and the strong partnerships we’ve built along the way. Being the mayor of my hometown has been the honor of a lifetime, and I am grateful to the citizens of Mobile and my family for their continued support, prayers and partnership.”
