November Events

Knit and Crochet
Every Wednesday in November & December | 3 pm | West Regional Library | 5555 Grelot Rd.
Work on your knit and crochet projects, and chat with fellow yarn crafters. Beginners are welcome! If you'd like to learn to knit or crochet, we'd be happy to teach you.

Thanksgiving Craft Time

Christmas Jubilee

Fall Festival

The Ben May Main Library will hold an outdoor Fall Festival full of free, family-friendly fun, including a petting zoo, live DJ, line-dance instructor, professional face-painter and much more! The City of Mobile Animal Services will be on site with pets available for adoption.

Holiday Cross Stitch

Join us to work on your Cross Stitch projects, and chat with fellow crafters. Beginners are welcome! If you would like to learn to Cross Stitch, we'd be happy to teach you. Surviving the Holidays Seminar

Surviving the Holidays: A two-hour seminar from the writers of the nationally known GriefShare series. The seminar helps participants know what to expect and how to prepare for the uncertainties of celebrating the holidays after the death of a loved one. Service of Hope

You are special in the eyes of God and are invited to attend the Service of Hope, a special service to help us prepare ourselves for the coming holidays and support those of us who struggle during this season. Spoken Word of Mobile Open House

Calling all poets and poetry lovers. This is a family-friendly event. You’re invited to help us celebrate powerful sounds that have no bounds – the beauty of the spoken word. Richards DAR House Museum Viewing

The entire Home will be decorated for Christmas, the month of December and available for viewing. Tickets at door are $10.00 for adults, children 0-5 free and 6-12 $5.00.

Blue Christmas Eucharist
12/1 | 6 pm | Christ Church Cathedral | 115 S. Conception St.
This subdued service offers prayers of comfort, the reading of Bible lessons, and the singing of Christmas carols, as well as a sermon and Holy Communion. A time of simple hospitality will follow worship. Those attending this special service may participate at their own level of comfort in this time of reflection and fellowship.

Mobile Symphony Orchestra: A Cinematic Christmas

Advent Lessons & Carols

Polar Express Experience

The Polar Express Experience, bundle up in your pajamas! Meet at our train station to be greeted by conductors, holiday games, and a photo booth. Board the Polar Express for a merry caroling session and a viewing of the film. Then disembark at the North Pole and receive a souvenir ornament to make. And who knows? Perhaps you’ll meet Santa and be the one to receive the first gift of Christmas!

Amahl & The Night Visitors

This opera tells the story of Amahl, a shepherd boy. When three kings come knocking on his and his mother’s door, Amahl is enchanted. When the kings describe the child they are seeking, Amahl and his mother are intrigued and moved. Their faith results in a miracle. This semi-staged production is in collaboration with Classical Ballet of Mobile, features soprano Mollie Adams as The Mother, and is stage directed by Dr. Patrick Jacobs. Donations are requested for this concert but are not required.
