Mobile, AL – At this morning’s meeting, the City Council approved two major drainage projects sponsored by Council President Gina Gregory. The projects are for work at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center and on Graham Road.

These projects are just the latest in the ongoing efforts to address the drainage issues across the District and City. In the Capital Improvement Plan for the current fiscal year, Gregory secured over $300,000 in funding for projects throughout the District. She has already lined up another $300,000 in the 2017 Capital Improvement Plan for further drainage work.

“Drainage is obviously a serious problem throughout Mobile,” said Council President Gregory. “We are going to continue investing in these repairs until we’ve got it right.”

The contracts approved at today’s meeting are with Sycamore Construction, Inc. for the work at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center and with Driven Engineering for an increase in the contract for the Graham Road work.
