Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 1:16 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 6500 block of Creekwood Court in Mobile, Alabama, Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Units arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of a single-story residence.
Crews searched for any victims inside the house as personnel extinguished the fire. No people were found, but two dogs were found dead inside the home. The house was severely damaged by the fire, and is expected to be a total loss.
During salvage and overhaul operations, a firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment before being released.
The fire is under investigation at this time.
