At approximately 5:04 AM, MFRD companies responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Gaston St. Upon arrival on scene, fire personnel confirmed a single-story, duplex-style, residential structure engulfed in flames.
Crews immediately established fire scene operations, connected to a water source, and began their initial fire attack with a pre-connected 2 1/2” fire hose. At approximately 5:18 AM, all signs of flames were adequately extinguished without any reported injuries.
The vacant structure sustained significant flame and water damage (No estimated dollar amount at this time). MFRD’s Bureau of Fire Prevention has launched an investigation to determine a cause of the fire. Details regarding this incident will be provided as the investigation progresses.
