Jackson Drive Appliance Fire

Apr 28th, 2019

MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 11:14 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched to the 200 block of Jackson Drive for the report of a stove on fire in a residence. Upon arrival on scene, companies confirmed heavy smoke visible from the exterior of a single-story home.

All occupants had safely evacuated the dwelling prior to MFRD arrival on scene. Flames were located in the kitchen, with extension into the walls and attic area. Fire personnel were able to safely extinguish all signs of flames while also ventilating the home of toxic gases and smoke.

No injuries were reported from the incident. Fire Investigators have determined the cause of the fire as accidental, stemming from a pot left cooking unattended on the stove.
