Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at 6:25 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 2000 block of O'Connor Street in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday evening, June 11, 2024.
The first arriving unit on the scene reported flames coming from the front of a one-story wood frame residence.
Crews extinguished the fire and searched for any victims inside. No people were found, but one dog was found dead inside. Another dog was missing. No one was home at the time of the fire.
The home suffered heavy damage from the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
Engine 14, Engine 12, Engine 21, Rescue 14, Truck 17, Car 80, District 1, District 3, Engine 8 and Rehab 1 were dispatched to the fire.
