4:59 p.m.—Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at 3:55 p.m. for a report of a commercial building fire in the 8300 block of Zeigler Boulevard just outside of Mobile, Alabama, Friday, April 5, 2024.
Initial units on scene reported heavy smoke coming from a single-story metal shop building. Crews secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant, which required blocking Zeigler Boulevard.
They made entry into the structure to quickly extinguish the fire to stop its spread and to make sure no one was inside. Three dogs were brought out safely.
As of 4:20 p.m., incident command reported that the fire was extinguished, but crews would be remaining on scene putting out any remaining hotspots. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
