PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE

Mobile Fire-Rescue's Public Relations Office
The Public Relations Office works proactively with the Public Information Officer to promote the department by letting the public, through the media, know about other operations that are not of an emergency nature. Some examples of this include inviting the media to cover Public Education events that are held in various parts of the city throughout the year to promote fire safety and fire prevention awareness. Inviting the media to disaster drills to witness our plans being practiced and to provide information about what we are prepared to deal with. The media is also invited to training sessions held at the fire academy, where recruits demonstrate fire fighting and rescue skills. These are just a few examples of how we can use the media to promote many aspects of department operations. It is the mission of the P.I.E.R. Division to promote not only the emergency operations of the department, but also the day-to-day operations. This allows the citizens and visitors of Mobile to have a greater understanding of one of the finest departments in the country, The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department.
