The City of Mobile will celebrate the United States of America’s 243rd birthday on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in scenic Cooper Riverside Park. Activities will include live music, outdoor family fun, food (available for purchase), and much more. Park gates open at 2 p.m. with a full day of fun and celebration for the young and the young-at-heart. Mardi Gras Park will also be available for picnicking, outdoor fun and viewing the fireworks show. Park rules will be strictly enforced by the Mobile Police Department in both locations. The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico (better known as GulfQuest) adjacent to the park will be open from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. for exhibit tours ($5) and to buy an all-day pass for the water slide ($5). Tickets may be purchased in advanced on Eventbrite or same day at the museum. Visitors to GulfQuest can also purchase food from their in-house restaurant- “The Galley,” which will be open until 9 p.m.
At 7 p.m., the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band will begin their concert featuring traditional patriotic songs and other favorite tunes. The Mobile Pops, a non-profit symphonic concert band, provides numerous concerts in the Greater Mobile area that are free to the public.
At 9 p.m. sharp, there will be a fireworks extravaganza on the Mobile River sponsored by the City of Mobile.  At 9:15 p.m., Emerge Show & Band conclude the day’s celebration in GulfQuest’s amphitheater playing “show stopping renditions of Top 40, Funk, Motown, Blues, R&B.” They’re known “for their energy, enthusiasm and the ability to leave listeners wanting more!”
