Breakthrough Teens C.A.F.E. program to explore post-graduation options

Teens and young adults ages 16-20 are invited to the Breakthrough Teens C.A.F.E., where they will learn more about the various post-graduation opportunities available to them, specifically apprenticeships and training programs that teach young people the skills they need for well-paying jobs, and do not require a four-year college degree.

Aug 30th, 2024

The clever C.A.F.E. acronym stands for College Ain't For Everybody, and meetups are once a month on every second Thursday. The first session will be held on September 12 at Springhill Recreation Center from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Please note that this program's intent is NOT to discourage college as an option, but to make sure students graduating from high school have a better sense of ALL options, including skilled trades.

Those interested may register here. For more information, please contact Teen Mentor Coordinator Phelon Carter at phelon.carter@cityofmobile.org.

Be sure to follow City of Mobile: Parks and Recreation on Facebook, and @251Teens on Instagram to stay up to date with C.A.F.E. session announcements.
