We believe participation in recreation and leisure activities is essential to quality of life. Whether through Therapeutic Recreation programs or inclusive recreation opportunities with the general community, our goal is to ensure every individual can fully enjoy leisure experiences.
If you need help choosing recreation opportunities, our staff can conduct a leisure interest assessment to identify an individual's needs, strenghts, and interests, helping match them with programs that best fit their abilities.
Inclusion Services provide accommodations that allow individuals with disabilities to participate in existing Parks and Recreation programs without fundamentally changing the activity.
Therapeutic Recreation Programs are specialized programs designed to support participants’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
TheCity of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department welcomes participation from all individuals, including those with disabilities or special needs. We are committed to ADA compliance and provide reasonable modifications to support program participation.
Requests for program modifications should be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance so staff can prepare appropriate accommodations.
