Brandon Schaufler Named November Firefighter of the Month

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department proudly recognizes Firefighter Brandon Schaufler as the November 2025 Firefighter of the Month.

Schaufler began his career with the MFRD in March of 2022. After excelling as a standout recruit during his training, Schaufler was assigned to Engine 12 and the Technical Rescue Team. Since his rookie year, Schaufler has consistently demonstrated exemplary work ethic and attitude. Firefighter Schaufler spent the last two years diligently working to attain all of the necessary technical rescue certifications, earning him the title of Rescue Technician with the State of Alabama. Concurrently, he ensured that his proficiency in firefighting skills and tactics, medical training, and career competence never waned.

 As a part of his commitment to serving the future of the MFRD, Schaufler also regularly assists the Training Division with administering the certificate of physical ability test (CPAT) to interested candidates.

In August, during a life threatening recovery operation, Schaufler was one of two rescue techs to make entry into a sewer pipe confined space rescue/recovery event. Schaufler shines and does a commendable job when asked to do any task or placed in any role.

From the seemingly mundane, day-to-day chores, to taking ownership and accountability for himself and those around him, FF Schaufler has grown immensely in his knowledge of department rules, regulations, operational guidelines, and general leadership skills.

As a vital component responsible for driving the success toward MFRD’s continued mission, Firefighter Brandon Schaufler is deserving of recognition as Firefighter of the Month.
