Brockton Court Residential Fire

Dec 13th, 2019

MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 11:58 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 7500 block of Brockton Court for reports of heavy smoke flowing from the roof of a home in the area. Upon arrival on scene, fire crews confirmed heavy smoke visible from the eaves of a 2-story, brick home.

Crews immediately made entry into the home in search of the source of the fire. Fire suppression teams began their initial fire attack, while search & rescue squads combed room-to-room for occupants in the home. Neighbors reported that the home was empty when the incident began. Firefighters successfully rescued 3 family pets (dogs) from the home, however. All 3 dogs were in good condition upon exiting the structure.

Suppression teams were able to successfully extinguish all signs of fire on the 2nd floor and in the attic. Pockets of flames were discovered behind walls in the area of the upstairs portion of the chimney.

No injuries were sustained during the operation. Fire Investigators continue to examine the scene in order to determine the cause of the incident.
