Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org ELECTRICAL FIRE ON FORREST STREET Firefighters responded to an apartment fire located on Forrest Street, Thursday, November 14 at approximately 11:17 a.m. Firefighters reported smoke coming from a chimney upon arrival and after further investigation discovered a fire in the wall of the downstairs apartment that had spread to the upstairs apartment. The fire appears to have been caused by an electrical malfunction in an outlet that a space heater was plugged into. Damage is estimated between $8-10 thousand dollars. All occupants escaped without apparent injury. Engines 2, 9, 16; t24; rescue 22 and District Chief Aubrey Bishop responded to the fire. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the investigation. ###
