Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE DAMAGES LOCAL BUSINESS Mobile firefighters responded to a building fire located at 4126 Government Boulevard (Suite A & B) early Monday morning, January 27, 2003. The fire originated in the Southwest corner office of the J&J Mardi Gras Company. The fire was discovered by a Mobile Police Officer patrolling the area at approximately 4:01 a.m. and first firefighters arrived at approximately 4:06 a.m. The fire spread to the crawl space above causing smoke damage throughout the one-story, multi-mercantile building. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at $300 thousand. No injuries were reported. The property is owned by M & M Ventures/GAC Investments. Engines 6, 19, 23, truck 5, rescue 6 and District Chief Alex Trenier responded to the fire. ###
