Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE FATALITY ON DAN WILLIAMS ROAD Fire Investigators are on the scene working to determine the cause of a trailer fire that claimed the life of a 45-year-old man. The fire occurred in the 4900 block of Dan Williams Road and was initially reported just before 3 a.m. The first caller only gave a location of Old Military and Bellingrath Roads which is quite a distance from where the fire was located. Firefighters and police arrived in area but found no fire. By the time a third caller was able to give a location firefighters discovered the trailer with heavy fire coming from one end. Firefighters knocked down the fire and found the victim approximately four feet inside the door. Firefighters brought him out and firemedics attempted to revive him but the fire had already claimed his life. No other injuries were reported. Engines 6, 7, 19; truck 24; rescue 7 and District Chief Steve Zirlott responded to the call. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the fire investigation. ###
