Fire Investigators Looking for Arson Suspect

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE INVESTIGATORS LOOKING FOR ARSON SUSPECT Investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue are looking for a suspect or suspects that are involved with the setting of a fire in an occupied residence early Monday morning, July 11. Firefighters and Police Officers were dispatched to 1006 Texas Street at approximately 4:25 a.m. for the report of shots fired and a fire. Firefighters were cancelled while still in route because the fire was out, however fire investigators were called to conduct an investigation into what appeared to be an intentionally set fire. The fire caused an estimated $5 thousand in damage. No injuries were reported. Because the structure was occupied any person or persons responsible will face Arson 1st charges. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department at 208-7311 or 208-MFRD. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the fire investigation. ###
