FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO APARTMENT FIRE
Mobile Firefighters responded to an apartment fire Monday, October 21 at approximately 12:10 p.m. The fire occurred at the Maison Deville Apartments located at 3920 Berwyn Drive, South.
When firefighters arrived they reported heavy smoke coming from an upstairs apartment and were met with heavy fire upon entry.
One firefighter received a shoulder injury while moving something inside the apartment and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The occupant was in the process of moving and there was very little furniture inside the apartment. A “friend” was reportedly staying inside the apartment and was not on scene when firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. No damage estimate is available at this time.
Engines 10, 12, 18, 23; truck 5; rescues 6 and 23 and District Chief Buster Bishop responded to the call.
The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the investigation.
