Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE AT 958 ARLINGTON STREET Firefighters responded to the report of a house fire, Friday evening, August 26, located at 958 Arlington Street. The fire was reported at approximately 10:55 p.m. Firefighters arrived to report fire and smoke coming from the one-story, wood frame structure. All eight occupants were already outside the structure. Once firefighters made entry they discovered fire in a bedroom that had spread to the attic. The remainder of the structure suffered smoke and heat damage. Fire investigators determined that the cause of the fire was accidental. No injuries were reported. The fire caused an estimated $15 thousand to the structure and an additional $2,500 to the homes contents for a total of $17,500 in damage. Engines 2, 8, 9; truck 17; rescue 24 and District Chief Alex Trenier responded. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating. ###
