Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units responded at about 4:07 p.m. to a residential fire in the 1500 block of Lemon Street in Mobile, Alabama, Monday, January 13, 2025.
Firefighters arrived on scene to see smoke and flames visible from a one-story wood frame residence. Residents had already evacuated.
Personnel quickly extinguished the fire, and did searches to make sure no one was inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No firefighters were injured. Nine people, mostly children, lived in the house, which is now uninhabitable.
