Man Injured From Fall on Billboard

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MAN INJURED FROM FALL ON BILLBOARD A man working on a billboard on Interstate 10 between Rangeline Road and Interstate 65 was injured when he fell from an 8-foot ladder onto the platform of the billboard. The call was received from his working companion by cell phone at approximately 9:17 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002. The platform was approximately 10 feet off the ground. The identity of the injured man is not known at this time. Apparently he was changing the prices on a Texaco Billboard when he fell and injuring what appears to be his right arm. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening. Firefighters had to cut the fence to get to the injured person. Mobile Fire-Rescue Firemedics transported him to Springhill Memorial Medical Center. Engines 7, 16, rescue 7, 24, truck 24 and District Chief Frank Byrd responded. ###
