Mobile Fire-Rescue Department firefighters were dispatched at 5:16 p.m. for a report of a motorcycle fuel tank explosion and residential fire in the 2400 block of Maple Drive Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke visible and flames burning up the side and to the eaves of a single-story brick veneer home, with residents evacuated.
A man who was working on the motorcycle on the porch when the fuel was ignited was treated and transported by MFRD paramedics with non life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which had spread to the attic.
The fire cause has been classified as accidental. There were no reports of any firefighter injuries.
