Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MOBILE FIRE INVESTIGATORS WORKING ARSON FIRE Investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue are currently investigating a fire that occurred Sunday night, October 13 at American Auto Painting located at 1307 Springhill Avenue. The fire was reported at approximately 9 p.m. and when firefighters arrived moments later they encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the large structure. Once they were able to make entry into the structure they also encountered at least six vehicles on fire. Investigators have found evidence to indicate there was a burglary or attempted burglary and the fire was most likely set to hide the crime. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $500 thousand. Anyone with information is ask to contact the Bureau of Fire Prevention at 208-7484 or the Arson Tip Line at 208-MFRD.
