Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org APARTMENT FIRE 200 2ND COURT An apartment fire located at 200 2nd Court in the Orange Grove Housing Community caused an estimated $5 thousand in damage Friday, February 7, 2003. The fire was reported at approximately 7:51 a.m. and Mobile firefighters arrived at approximately 7:56 a.m. and reported fire showing from the two-story apartment building. The fire appears to have originated in the bathroom and spread to the living room. The occupant, Joseph F. Dudley, told Mobile Fire Investigators that he was laying in bed, smelled smoke and got up to investigate its origin. Finding nothing he returned to bed and shortly after the smoke alarm sounded and he immediately exited the apartment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Engines 2, 3, 21, truck 4, rescue 3, and District Chief Bill Glisson responded. ###
