Arrest Made in Connection with Recent Fires

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Arson Unit arrested Justin Jamar Jones Sunday morning, August 3, 2025, after a vacant dwelling in the 700 block of State Street was destroyed by fire. Nearby, Mobile Police Department caught Jones trying to set fire to a vacant home on Old Shell Road.

Last month, fire destroyed an unoccupied home in the 300 block of Clay Street, and at that time an unidentified male was seen at the fire by persons in the area. Jones is the primary suspect in multiple fires which have occurred recently, and more charges are likely pending further investigation.
