Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE DAMAGES GARAGE AND CARS Mobile Firefighters responded to a fire in a garage located at 952 Summerville Street, Wednesday evening, February 27, 2002. The fire was reported at approximately 6:58 p.m. and firefighters first arrived on the scene at approximately 7:03 p.m. Charles and Bobbie Odom are the owners and occupants of the one-story wood frame, brick veneer structure. The fire appears to have originated in the breaker box inside the garage. The fire extended throughout the garage and into the attic area of the main residence. The fire also caused damage to a 1995 Cadillac and 1995 Geo Prism. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature and accidental. Damage is estimated at $20 thousand. No injuries were reported. Engines 8, 12, 14, truck 17, rescue 14 and District 3 Chief Alex Trenier responded to the fire. ###
