Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (334) 208-5806/Fax: (334) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIREFIGHTHERS RESPOND TO BEDROOM FIRE Mobile Firefighters responded to a fire in the bedroom of a two-story, wood frame structure located at 6971 Ching Lynch Road, Wednesday, February 28, 2001. Neighbors reported what appeared to be smoke coming from the roof at approximately 9:22 a.m. Firefighters from Mobile Fire-Rescue reported on the scene at approximately 9:32 a.m. The fire appears to have originated in the upstairs rear bedroom and firefighters were able to keep the fire confined to that bedroom. There were varying degrees of heat and smoke damage throughout. No one was home at the time of the fire. Michele Dobbins is listed as the occupant and Jerry W. Dobbins is listed as the owner. Damage is estimated at $25 thousand. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Engines 1, 15, 18, truck 5, rescue 1 and District 3 Chief Howard Ollhoft, Sr. responded. ###
