Government Street Commercial Building Fire

Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units responded to a commercial building fire about 1:36 a.m. at 2254 Government Street in Mobile, Alabama, Monday morning, October 28, 2024.

The single-story, vacant structure had moderate black smoke visible when crews arrived. Personnel extinguished the fire and performed primary and secondary searches to make sure no one was inside, with no one found. 

One minor firefighter injury was reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
