House Fire Injures Three

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (334) 208-5806/Fax: (334) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE CAUSES INJURIES Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Firemedics transported a mother and her two daughters to a local hospital after suffering smoke inhalation from a fire in their house this morning, Friday, June 8, 2001. The incident occurred in a one-story wood frame structure located at 5015 Camelot Drive off Three Notch Road. Firefighters were notified at approximately 8:14 a.m. and arrived on the scene shortly after at approximately 8:21 a.m. The fire appears to have originated in the kitchen near the refrigerator. The fire spread throughout the kitchen into the dining room and living room. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Ashley Hodges, 20 and her daughters Alexandria Hodges and Amber Cook (ages not available) were transported to Providence Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The injuries to the little girls appeared to be minor. The elder Hodges condition is unknown. The fire caused an estimated $25 thousand in damage. ###
