HOUSE FIRE MIAMI STREET
A house fire located at 1006 Miami Street was reported at approximately 8:49 a.m. Wednesday morning, February 1. The house is located across the street from the City of Mobile Public Works Department and a District Chief, who was at the city garage was the first on the scene reporting heavy fire coming from the single story, wood frame structure leaving it a total loss.
The occupants were not home at the time of the fire and told fire investigators someone had broken into the house the previous day and they were afraid to stay in the house and stayed elsewhere.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Damage is estimated at approximately $50 thousand. No injuries were reported.
Engines 2, 3, 11; truck 17; rescue 3 and District Chief Marquis James responded to the fire. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the investigation.
