House Fire on Selma Street

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE ON SELMA STREET Firefighters responded to the report of a vacant house fire located in the 900 block of Selma Street early Friday morning, April 27. The call was received at approximately 6:00 a.m. and when firefighters arrived moments later they reported smoke and fire coming through the roof of the single-story, wood frame structure. The house was boarded up and under renovations from a previous fire and there were no utilities connected to the house. Firefighters had to force entry to extinguish the flames. Fire investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set and the cause remains under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported and no damage estimated has been determined yet. Engines 2, 3, 11; truck 4; rescue 3 and District Chief David Rose responded to the fire. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating. ###
