Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 4:08 p.m. for a report of residential fire in the 1800 block of Idell Street in Mobile, Alabama, Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Units arrived on scene to find heavy, dark smoke coming from the eaves of a single-story, wood frame residence with two occupants outside the home.
Crews immediately began an interior fire attack and searched the home for any victims to make sure no one was inside. The fire spread in the house and into the attic. The fire was extinguished.
As of 4:59, the investigator and personnel are still on scene extinguishing any hotspots. No one was injured in the fire.
