Kings Gate Drive Residential Fire

2:48 p.m. — Crews completed overhaul, extinguishing remaining hotspots and left the scene about two hours ago. The fire remains under investigation at this time.


11:48 a.m. — The occupants actually were not at the scene, it was neighbors who were outside and alerted firefighters that the couple living at the house was not home and had been alerted that their home was on fire.


10:57 a.m. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched for a report of a residential fire in the 3300 block of Kings Gate Drive West in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after dispatch received multiple calls that a home in the neighborhood was on fire.

Engine 18 arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the front of a single-story brick veneer residence.

Neighbors Occupants of the home were outside and said no one else was inside. As other units arrived, crews immediately began to put water on the fire and briefly made an interior fire attack until they were ordered into a defensive position where they could fight the fire from the outside. The fire burned through the roof and damaged the whole structure.

The fire is under control at this time and the investigator is on scene. Firefighters will continue to work here until the fire is completely extinguished.
