Firefighters were dispatched at about 2:18 p.m. and responded to a report of a residential fire in the 2100 block of Mimosa Drive in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
While en route, personnel noticed smoke from a distance and reported to all incoming units that it would be a working fire. This report summoned additional resources immediately to the scene.
Upon arrival firefighters reported heavy dark smoke and flames visible from a single-story brick residence.
They secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant and deployed hose lines to the rear of the structure where a fire had burned through the roof. They completed primary and secondary searches to make sure no one was still inside the structure.
A mother and son were home and called 911 and got out of the house when they noticed the smoke. No one was injured in the fire, which is under investigation at this time.
