Mobile Firefighters to Provide Meals to Families

Lafayette Street have been busy cooking firehouse meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House on Springhill Avenue. The firefighters got donations from Food World, Winn Dixie and a local church to purchase the food and they have been busy cooking all day. They will be putting the finishing touches on at the Ronald McDonald house at approximately 3:00 p.m. this Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 2001. The meals will be ready to serve between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. to approximately 25 family members that have sick children at USA Medical Women's and Children's Hospital. The firefighters will also sit down and eat with the various families. The menu will consist of but not limited to Chicken and Dumplings, Pork on the grill, mac and cheese, hot dogs and pies for desert. Melton Station is home to Engine 8, Ladder Truck 17 and the High Angle Confine Space Rescue Team. ###
