RETIRED FIRE CHIEF PASSES AWAY
It is with great sadness that Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Officials announce that retired Fire Chief H.H. “Buddy” Edwards, Jr passed away today, Wednesday, January 25.
Chief Edwards served 39 years with the department, eight of those years as Chief of the Department. Fire Station Six on Hillcrest Road is named in his honor. Edwards followed in his father’s footsteps who served 30 years on the department and retired as a Captain. His son William has been on the department over 22 years.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
